A Chicago Heart with an Education Soul

I am running for Chicago’s first elected School Board because improving the achievement of all our students has been my life’s work and passion. I am running as a staunch independent with a singular focus on our students and a responsibility to nurture and grow the talent in our city.

The future of Chicago is here as we ensure our students have all the resources they need to learn, thrive, and succeed in a world-class city!

Consider my ideas on creating a school system that works for all while not taking away from the beacons that have been created. I am incredibly proud of my background that will allow me to bring my vision to fruition as a:

  • CPS Parent of Two

  • Doctorate in Education, Organization, and Leadership from Alma Mater, University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign

  • Adjunct Professor and Residency Field Coach at National-Louis University

  • Local School Council - Current Chair & Member

  • Former CPS High School Teacher - Carl Schurz

  • Former CPS Central Office Administrator

  • 23 year resident of District 4 and wife to a proud CPS graduate

Some people call me mamma, some Carmen and others Dr. G.
